Adventure awaits

South Africa’s diverse landscape and climate are a clear indication of what can be expected when it comes to adventure travel. From Two oceans colliding on the almost 3000km coastline to the plains, savanna, and desert. Rolling hills and mountain peaks reaching above 3000m altitude and, going below sea level, exploring the reefs and ocean life. This country with all its diversity is the perfect place to look for adventure. This can be in the form of pushing the limits of extreme experiences or just seeking something unique to explore, just to feed that human curiosity. Let’s explore Southern Africa, let’s travel, and Let’s Venture to Memories.

1. Gauteng:

Green Pear Adventures offers water, land, and airbase adventure activities, making sure that we add the adventure element to your tailor-made Southern-African travel package. We start our adventure in the smallest province in South Africa, Gauteng. It is home to the busiest international airport in the country namely OR Tambo International Airport. This urban jungle offers the usual mountain biking and hiking trails as well as a few unique adrenalin experiences such as rollercoaster rides at a theme park, bungee jumping off abandoned buildings and so much more.

2. Mpumalanga and Limpopo:

These provinces border the neighboring countries of Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique and are home to the famous Greater Kruger National Park. Expert guided open vehicle game drives and don’t forget the walking safaris are only some of the ways to experience this iconic destination. Hot air ballooning, a helicopter ride with a picnic in a romantic setting in the mountains, or a visit to an animal rehabilitation centre that offers close-up wildlife experiences are some of the highlights. The list continues with Canopy tours, abseiling, river rafting, hiking trails, and then topping that with the Graskop Gorge Lift offering the extreme gorge swing (for those who dare) to the tranquil walk in the beautiful gorge reached by the state of the art (48m) high glass lift.

3. North West:

To the West of Gauteng lies the North West Province home to the iconic Sun City resort famous for its world-class golf course, luxurious hotels, Casinos, and the wildlife in the Pilanesberg National Park. Hot air ballooning, skydiving, along with the activities that the Sun City resort can offer is a fun-filled family break away.

4. Western Cape:

This province is not only for the foodies and wine lovers, this is the tourism hub of this beautiful country. The mountains, the Valleys, and the breathtaking coastline combined with a melting pot of people coming from all ends of the earth is a recipe for an unforgettable time. The list of activities is endless in and around Cape Town like a cable car ride up to the natural wonder that is Table mountain, hiking trails, shark cage diving, and speed boating to name a few.
